merry christmas!

i hope you all had a WONDERFUL christmas day!  here in pretoria it was a HOT day, we were close to boiling point but luckily a cool breeze kept us all from insanity!

it was great to spend some time with my family.  i learnt a couple of lessons today.  be tolerant.  love to the max.  hold your tongue.  laughter is the best medicine.  nothing beats family.

'starry starry night' is here! and a little something for you!

hi everyone!

i hope you have been to parker's site?  you have to see his pics, check my blog post below for more details.  

santa has been tooooo kind to me this year.  i feel very thankful!  this year has been the first year EVER that i have saved some money.  every month i have put some cash aside and last week my investment finally paid out.  i budgeted for a nikkor 18 - 200mm lens, it is pretty expensive, but that was my baby that i saved for.  when damien bought his camera, he came accross a buyer that gets photography gear for waaaaayyy cheaper than any store in south africa.  just so you know, in sunny sa we get ripped to pieces for any kind of photographic gear.  non of our gear has been bought in south africa.  we always try to make a plan to get someone to bring back stuff for us, or order online.  soooo.. we hit the jackpot!  when i started saving for the 18 -200mm, it was going for about r9500-00 (roughly $1250).  we managed to get it for only r4700!!!!!( $620!!!!).  i was soooo thrilled!  that mean that i still had a couple of bucks left over, so we asked for a price on the nikon speedlight sb 900.  it sells for almost R5000 ($670) BUUUUUT, i managed to get one for only R4000!!!($540!!)  i am ooooover the moon!  be sure to check out when i show you pics of all my new toys!

ok, so onto my 2009 christmas kit!  this one has been on my hd for more than a year.. promise!  i do that often.  i will get inspiration from whatever, start with a kit and then shelve it.  sometimes for.. yes.. years!! hehe!  this is 'starry starry night':

part 2 of 'flirty' is here!

hellooo scrapland! 

what a whirlwind, that is the only way i can explain the last 3 days.  savannah has finally finished with pre primary school, it was pretty emotional, but i am very proud of my big girl and very thankful for the fantastic school she has been in for the last 4 years.  

we also had our christmas party for our pamper club, it was sooo much fun!  i truly have the best friends ever!  we did have a little incident before the night started, tarryn slipped on the stairs outside my front door and fell with her right hand first into a mayonnaise jar... i am very pleased with myself for not getting queasy.  long story short, 7 stitches, antibiotics and a tetanus shot later, everything was ok!

i also met up with caryn for the last time..  ooo we have been pondering about lots of stuffs..... all i can say, as always, is watch this space!  hehe!

look at my pretty girl....

hi everyone!

i loooove to look at blogs on photography, its a massive inspiration to me.  recently saw a technique that i looooove, its grimy and dirty, with just a bit of texture to give the photo a vintage feel.   lots of brushes and vignettes etc etc later, this is what i came up with:

i tried it out after a very nice chat and coffee and lemon meringue pie with my ct member caryn!  how awesome to meet this very talented energetic kind and caring woman.  we got kicked out of one coffee shop cause they wanted to close, so we just carried on our conversation at another one... just about got chased out of there as well.  and because we have sooooo much to talk about, we are meeting again on friday, with all our kids.. (think of us please!!  hehe!)  check us out in action!

cant wait for friday caryn!  whoohoooo!  i cant tell you how fantastic it is to chat to someone - in REAL LIFE - about all things scrappy.  i could have talked all night, really.
